Rick and Michonne hit the road searching for guns and other supplies while Rosita and Sasha plan a suicide mission to kill Negan.
I am sad to say that this week, I’m ranting more than anything else about Sunday’s episode of Walking Dead. Supplies are needed for the Saviors so the love birds “Richonne” plan a road trip to find what they need to fill their quota but more importantly to search for guns for Jadis and their impending war against Negan. For a full recap READ HERE.
Before I get into it, I just want to say that though their have been many things to complain about this season (wtf was up with that horrible CGI last week?), there have been many good things too. But people have been complaining non-stop– “It’s too violent” blah blah, “Now it’s not violent enough” blah blah! What do you want people?! Make up your minds! I have been a die-hard fan since the beginning and was okay with the violent premiere (still miss you Glenn) just as I am okay with the quieter, character-driven episodes. But even I have to admit that somewhere along the away, the writers have lost their sparkle. It happens with long-running shows and I think Sunday’s episode was a good example.
Also, I don’t get the whole Richonne thing! Am I blind? Am I watching the same show? I don’t feel all of this supposed chemistry between the two of them that everyone is buzzing about. Not only that, I absolutely detest that since Michonne has fallen in love, she must therefore be a shadow of her former self. Michonne is supposed to be THE ultimate bad ass! A true warrior! And for whatever reason, she has evolved into this person I hardly recognize. We met this katana wielding ninja when she arrived on the scene with her walker pets…PETS!
And the Rant Just Keeps on Going…
What is up with Rosita? Seriously, she “Can’t just wait around!” and yet whenever she does something rash, somebody ends up with their guts for garters or at the very least, poured all over the street. So now she goes searching for guns on her own. Really, it’s a wonder anyone is still alive when so many characters decide to venture out on their own regularly. Now, if you’re so keen to do something, why don’t you search for food and medical supplies. Things people actually need. I used to like her character but lately the direction her story has taken has been a bit annoying to watch and now she’s dragging Sasha into her pot of crazy.
Tara, Tara, Tara. What are you waiting for? The Oceanside community tried to murder you and yet you still haven’t mentioned them to your fellow survivors. Their community is rife with munition and other supplies. Sure, they probably don’t deserve to be taken over but desperate times and all that.
Finally, the moment when we all held our collective breath because we thought Rick was getting eaten? Really? I know it should have scared the bejesus out of me but honestly I didn’t believe it for a second. Why? Been there, done that and it wasn’t all that long ago either. That was exactly how they had us believing Glenn had died for 2 long and painful weeks.
In case it isn’t obvious, I was really disappointed with this one and I can only hope that as the season winds up TWD will step up and be the show I know and love. BTW, where are the Whisperers already?
We would love to hear what your thoughts are on this episode or the show in general.
