Jennifer L. Armentrout is back to exploring the world of Luxen’s and Humans after so long in The Darkest Star.
This was a fun book!
The Darkest Star was a book I was anticipating for a long time and I was grateful to be able to read it long before the day of its release. I loved the original Lux series so I was very excited to see what came next for the Alien race I love so much. It was fun reading another story about a boy who is an alien and a human girl come together to defeat evil forces! I made me miss the Lux series very much.
This book tells the story of a seventeen year old girl named Evie and a boy named Luc. The only thing is Luc is 100% some sort of alien, but that’s okay because the planet is aware aliens live there. This book starts off really quick, throwing you into the mystery and complications that is the alien/human life. I really enjoyed the characters and the chemistry was great. Their romance was slightly too slow-burn for me, but I still enjoyed the romance. It was 100% setting up a more developed relationship in the next book(s) which I am excited to read about.
The Darkest Star was too bad I didn’t like it as much as I wanted to, for a first book it wasn’t strong enough for me but it was still a fun read? I’d recommend it and I can see it developing into an amazing series in the future but there were certain things such as the predictability of what was going on but besides that, I think a lot of people will still enjoy this book.
