One of my favorite things about summer is reading books.
Reading outside in my hammock. Reading on a flight to the beach. Reading ON the beach. There’s something special about about warm days, sun and a good book.
I can usually make a nice big dent in my TBR list over the summer. Here’s what I’m reading.
Hostage by Jamie Begley
I have a weakness for MC books. It’s a major guilty pleasure of mine. That life is sooooo not my world, not anywhere near my life. I am sort of addicted to reading about it. Leather vests, motorcycles, the crazy parties, alpha men, strong women they can’t resist, and of course the sexiness. Yasss….there are ALWAYS sexy times. I’m reading this right now. And I am loving it. #DontJudgeMe
Lessons in Gravity by Jessica Peterson
This has long been on my TBR pile. I ADORED the first book in Peterson’s Study Abroad series. Read my review here. I don’t have any good reasons for not having read this one yet. Look at that guy’s back. I have a thing happening with my list, guys’ backs. I’m good with it. I will be reading Lessons in Gravity on my flight to Vancouver in July. This is a new adult romance set in Spain.
The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett
WTF, you might say? Feels a bit odd nested here in my list of hot romance reads. Here’s the thing…I will, guaranteed, need some brain bleach and this book will do the trick for me. I can read a lot of sexy times, but eventually it catches up with me, and like smelling coffee beans between perfume testing, I will need something. I’ve heard it’s very creative and funny. I do love fantasy. How can you not find this description intriguing??
On a world supported on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown), a gleeful, explosive, wickedly eccentric expedition sets out. There’s an avaricious but inept wizard, a naive tourist whose luggage moves on hundreds of dear little legs, dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and of course THE EDGE of the planet…
Day Zero and Arcana Rising by Kresley Cole
Woo hoo! TWO books in the Arcana Chronicles series. Of the YA books on the TBR pile, these are the top two I’ll be reading. If you haven’t read Poison Princess (book one), get on it. You’ll rip right through this series, be on the edge your seat dying, and super excited like me for this summer reading double header from Kresley Cole. It’s a world where special kids and young adults take on the powers of the Tarot cards. They battle each other and scheme to figure out who’s the real baddie. Plus, there’s a love triangle!! The only love triangle in my life is my husband and my dog, Sparky. They both require a lot of attention.
Logan Kade by Tijan
I one clicked this book in March. Tijan is a favorite author and I’m dying to see how the bad boy sex machine Logan gets taken down. This book is probably a three Margarita read by the pool. I. Can’t. Wait.
