OMG, emphasis on the God part! Lucifer was explosive this week and ended the season with a bang!
All season long a very corrupt cop called Malcolm has been making everyone’s life a living “Hell.” Even after Chloe figured it out and saw him shot mid dirty deal, Amenadiel brought him back from the dead and (Hell) to use him as a tool to force Lucifer to return home.
Last we saw, poor Lucifer was framed by Malcolm for the murder of the street Preacher and oh how betrayed Lucy felt when Chloe didn’t believe in his innocence. Just before he was cuffed, Amenadiel whisked Lucifer away and the brothers actually joined forces to prove Lucifer’s innocence.
Speaking of joining forces…Chloe after realizing that Malcolm framed Lucifer, goes to Maze for help. Talk about an unlikely duo, but I loved it. They were fantastic together. Needing to put their differences (and Maze’s blades) aside in order to find him.
With the help of Chloe’s estranged husband, Detective “Douche,” the angelic brothers follow a lead that leads them to a warehouse where Malcolm has gone to get money to disappear.
After a fantastic fight scene, the angelic brothers deal with some goons and then search for Malcolm. They find him and his escape fund, but poor Amenadiel is stabbed by Malcolm with Maze’s blade, a weapon forged to kill angels, and it’s a fatal blow.
The girls arrive minutes after Amenadiel is stabbed and even though he is ready to die, Maze takes him away to heal him with something divine (a feather from Lucifer’s lost angel wings). I think those two might just be more than bed buddies *wink.
Malcolm manages to escape the warehouse without his money and Chloe has enough evidence to prove Lucifer was framed. They arrive at the police station and Chloe’s phone rings…it’s Malcolm and he has her daughter Trixie. She is instructed to come alone, especially NO LUCIFER, and to bring the bag of money or the kid dies.
Lucifer promises to stay behind but he didn’t say he wouldn’t follow her. Chloe shows up at yet another warehouse and makes the trade, money for her daughter. Malcolm plans on killing them anyway. Enter Lucifer! Oh and he’s PISSED! Even though he knows being in close proximity to Chloe makes him vulnerable to well… everything, he goes after Malcolm with everything he has and oh my what a sight!
But like I said, he is vulnerable to injury, and Malcolm shoots him before Chloe’s eyes. As Lucifer lays there bleeding out, he actually speaks to his Father and says he will do anything so long as no harm comes to her.
Daddy hears his prayer and Lucifer is restored. He quickly dispatches with Malcolm (finally) and the scene ends with Chloe not believing what she saw and Lucifer telling Trixie it was past her bed time.
The show ends with a magically healed Amenadiel and heroic Lucifer having a drink at Lucifer’s apartment. He tells Amenadiel that he spoke with Father but there was a deal made. Someone has escaped from Hell and Lucifer has to find them. He is clearly terrified at the thought, and Amenadiel is confused. What could possibly scare the Prince of Darkness? Lucifer gulps his drink and says one word… Mom.
I’m pretty sure that myself and millions of other viewers are still in shock!
