If you’ve been waiting patiently to finally get to Hothouse Flower since Ricochet (book #1.5) like I did, you know just how much it was worth the wait.
As soon as I got Hothouse Flower I devoured it. I kept going too fast but I couldn’t stop myself! It was so good! I wanted more!
The Addicted Series by Becca & Krista Ritchie is what its name is. Addictive. You can’t stop at one book. They are great! The story lines, the flow of the writing, the characters, the BROTP’S, the emotional scenes, the steamy scenes, all of it is so great. Everything is so originally plotted out so delicately by these two lovely writers, you won’t find a plot hole, you won’t find anything wrong. It is a very cleverly written series.
Hothouse Flower surpassed all the previous books in the series for me (not because I don’t love Connor, Lil, Lo and Rose), but because Ryke and Daisy are my favorite two characters.
A forbidden love is my favorite kind of story and I have been waiting so desperately for this book! Hothouse Flower made me cry more than the others and made me laugh harder than the others! Plus, it was so hot 😉
“His lips tickle my ear. “You’re so fucking beautiful.” I smile wide. Those words mean much so much more now than they ever did before. “Say that again.”
“How about I just fucking show you?” His hot breath warms my neck, and then he kisses that very spot, deeply right away.”
I absolutely loved getting to see Daisy Calloway and Ryke Meadows in their own skin by themselves.
I loved seeing what they were actually like on their own without everyone surrounding them. It was so weird but amazing to finally see them like this.
In the previous books, we always see Ryke stopping Daisy’s flirty antics but it was incredible getting into his head to see what he actually thought of it all. In Hothouse Flower we follow Daisy and Ryke and watch as they finally give into what they want. We see the struggles, the ups, and downs of their inconvenient relationship and how everyone deals with it.
“Freedom doesn’t come with age. It doesn’t magically appear when you’re a legal adult. It comes when you stand up for what you believe in.”
Daisy Calloway gets a massive shock in Paris during Fashion Week that makes her question the way she’s been living her life and it really opens her eyes, as well as Rykes’. I loved seeing them both push to the limit, finally doing what they wanted. I thought the way their relationship evolved was beautiful. Throughout the previous books, you get a sense that Ryke really cares about Daisy, but you just see how deeply it is in Hothouse Flower. I loved finally seeing the way Ryke and Daisy truly cared for each other.
“I’m so fucking tired of being alone. I was scared that he’d tell me to fucking leave. Because that means going back to a life I can’t see for myself anymore.”
The way the family issues were dealt with were so good.
Everything that happened between Lo and Ryke made my heart hurt. It made me sad to see how Daisy and Ryke viewed themselves. They saw themselves as outsiders in the group and in most cases, they truly were in Hothouse Flower. Once again, we see the other members of the group and they are developed just as much as Daisy and Ryke. I loved reading about Connor, Lil, Lo and Rose as well. The twists and surprises that came with everyone else just made this book even more special.
By the way, if you can’t handle foul language, this book may be difficult to read. Ryke is a curser!!
This is probably one of my favorites of the entire series. It made me incredibly happy and emotional.
“You’re my favorite four-letter word.”
An A+ read for this crazy girl and brooding boy.
