It’s the most wonderful time of the year. When you can quietly slink away from your relatives. Because books. There’s holiday reading to do.
Totally acceptable behavior.
If you can’t sneak off, you should at least have some cool nights, blankets, solitude, reading and wine in your future. Treat yourself to the following holiday book picks.
I do dig vampires. Always. The Vampires in America series by D.B Reynolds is one of my all time favorites. The newest one in the series is Lucifer. It’s on my eReader right now. Begging me to crack open. This series starts with Cyn and Raphael- Raphael being the uber alpha vampire hero. They appear throughout the entire series. Great couple! This new one is about European vamps trying to take over America. It looks to be full of action and tension!
Empire of Storms, book five in the fabulous YA fantasy series, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Ok. So…I love this series and plan on FINALLY reading the latest installment. I’ve heard it’s quite the emotional rip out your heart read. I honestly can’t believe I haven’t devoured it yet. That’s how sadly busy I’ve been. It’s tragic.
Back to hot vampires with this next read. What do you read after Twilight when you need that next level of vamp sexiness? Black Dagger Brotherhood by bad ass J.R. Ward. Oh…hell yes!!! The spin off series, Black Dagger Legacy, has book two out. Blood Vow. The reviews are great. I see myself in front of the fireplace pulling an all nighter with the brothers.
Here’s your great deal!! More vampy goodness at only .99 (as of when this post was published). A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest, new version…extra long. The description mentions The Vampire Diaries. Ok…tell me more!! The heroine is kidnapped to an island and must live with the dark royal prince. Sure it’s dangerous, but it’s her best option, and she must win him over to survive. What have you got to lose? Such a bargain.
Another bargain by a super popular author. Home Tears by Tijan…just .99!! This looks sooooo good!! Dani’s survived a lot of sh*t storms. Her mother died. Her two sisters loathed her. One aunt hated her. The other was strangely distant, but the worst storm—being dumped by her childhood best friend/high school boyfriend/first love for her younger sister. And this goodness costs less than a latte!
Holiday book picks from Shanannigans…
What really hooked me, was the beautiful cover but then I read the “back” and happily sighed thinking, “This book was written just for me.” Royalty, drama, intrigue, betrayal and bloody, bloody history. What more could a girl want?
Oh yes…Shanannigans…I know exactly what you mean.
And here’s a different holiday book pick, an outlier of total awesomeness. Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick.
Lately I have been obssessed with this tiny person and her ginormous personality. I can’t think of a better way to deal with the stress of the holiday season and my in-laws than reading her collection of hilarious failures and huge triumphs. Just think, reading this by the light of my christmas tree, drinking wine and bingeing on chocolate..Perfect!
From Nerd Lady…
She’s on the same page as me! Such good taste. But, her task is WAY larger…she’s going in for the entire Throne of Glass series. Good luck sister, see you in a few weeks. They’re addicting!
I just stocked my Kindle with them last night, so I’m ready for the holiday traveling to start. I’ve heard such great things about the series, and I thought it was about time I got caught up!
