Heated Rivalry is part of the Game Changers series by Rachel Reid. I haven’t read the first book, which is fine, because it can be read as a standalone!
This is a real enemies to lovers’ story. Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. They are the biggest rising hockey stars on different teams. They’re constantly trying to one-up each other and stay #1.
I loved their rivalry so much! You just know they want to dislike each other but they can’t. Instead, the rivalry causes a lot of sexual tension. Which leads to a lot of sneaking around and secret hook-ups. The angry sex. Oh my god.
I am a SUCKER for hockey romances. I really don’t know what it is but hockey is just very sexy to read about.
Another thing I really enjoyed which I find rare in books these days is that this story spans over several years. Over those years, these Shane and Ilya’s hockey careers just keep racing and the competition gets fiercer. Over the years, the sexual tension never dies, there is the occasional angst which comes with such a slow-burn romance.
I definitely recommend it to all fans of m/m and hockey romances!
