Halo is the first in the new Rockstar M/M series by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine.
It’s also the first book I’ve read by this duo and woah! I loved it! The writing was also super smooth, I would have never guessed two people wrote it so that’s an awesome plus.
Viper and the other bandmates of TBD are urgently looking for a new singer after theirs dumps them unexpectedly.
Hundreds of auditions finally lead them to Halo.
Extremely talented, beautiful and straight Halo.
Everyone in the band wants him to be their new singer – except Viper. Only because he thinks he won’t be able to handle being around Halo. They’re going to spend a lot of time together. During rehearsals, creating new music and all that time on the stage. When the chemistry is already high musically, it can’t help but transfer elsewhere right?
Viper flirts with everyone and everyone wants Viper. Flirting with Halo shouldn’t be a big deal, it’s just the way Viper is and Halo is straight anyway. He shouldn’t be affected by it. But Viper might just be the person to change all that.
I really enjoyed this book! I haven’t read a Rockstar romance in a while and it was fun getting to know a group of boys who care about each other and just want to make amazing music. I liked that the focus was on the Rockstar lifestyle and not super angsty.
As for Halo and Viper? Every interaction they have since the moment they meet is FIRE! The tension and chemistry between them were on another level of hot. It was on the nice side of slow burn but still leading to them burning up the sheets. I cant wait to read about the continuation of their relationship – the only thing I would have loved to see a bit more was their emotional connection but I definitely believe the following books will cover this!
I’m so excited to see where the next two books lead the story.
This is a trilogy and the first book does have a small cliff-hanger, but every book releases every four weeks so it’s not a long wait! The next book is out on 03/25/19.
