Fifty Shades in Fifty Days or a Booknista Writer’s Descent into one of the Bestselling Books of all Time: Chapter 22
Exciting week. In 50 Shades of Grey movie news, they are going to start filming the next two installments, back to back.
This Fifty Shades of Grey chapter is called, a very stalker vacation.
To recap- Ana is about to take off on her way to visit her mom in Savannah. She will be flying first class, in style, compliments of Christian Grey. She’s unfamiliar with the concept of wifi and opens her MacBook to give it a whirl. She emails Christian to thank him for his upgrades.
They have some playful banter. I like emails. I like the banter. I’m good so far. On her layover, Ana sends him a long rambling email, a total brain dump of a note. I’ve heard it all before…she’s scared, can’t tell when he’s joking, she misses him, she’s taking a huge leap of faith to enter this relationship, she isn’t submissive, but he just plain dazzles her. So, basically… while she’s very angsty, she’s definitely all in.
When she lands in Savannah, her mom and step dad are waiting for her. And Ana is so overcome with emotion she cries. They comment on the weight of her bag, because they aren’t used to people traveling with computers. #eyeroll
They head to the beach.
And, her mom quizzes her about her new man. Lets see…what to say…how to describe him. Handsome. Wealthy. Complicated. Mercurial. Oh, and he likes to tie me up and whip me. No, too much? She left that last part out. They continue to discuss men. Her mom has A LOT of experience. She’s on husband number four.
When girl time is over. She logs in to check her emails. At this point, she does have a Blackberry. Just pointing that out, as most women her age would be staring at their phone for emails every few minutes. I do this, admittedly. Waiting for her is an incredibly long email from Christian. I will attempt to summarize…
- He’s miffed that she took the time to dump her thoughts in an email, rather than talking to him.
- He’s rich, biotch. Get used to it.
- She’s a bright, witty, beautiful young woman.
- He’s sorry that he scares her.
- They’ll discuss gagging, he does in fact like it very much.
- He’s tried to stay away from her, but the force is too strong.
- Don’t worry about the whole full time submissive thing, Ana’s great in the playroom. Where it matters.
- Enjoy yourself, but be good.
After reading his manifesto, Ana realizes how much she loves him. There are several more sweet, clever, innuendo laced emails that they exchange.
*ANA TAKES A DINNER BREAK*
Back to more cute emails. Until…bam…he tells her he’s having dinner with an old friend. Hmmm….that could mean a few people. But, Ana immediately goes to Mrs. Robinson, Christian’s molester.
Next day, it’s more girl time. They’re shopping and Ana is worried as she hasn’t heard from Christian all day. He went from non stop emails to silence. When she finally does hear from him, he confirms her fear, the old friend is Mrs. Robinson. Ana is angry- AS SHE SHOULD BE, DAMNIT. She lashes out in an email. Completely correct behavior. I agree.
And then she gets this…

This is not something I wish to discuss via e-mail. How many Cosmopolitans are you going to drink?
Christian Grey CEO, Grey Enterprises Holdings Inc.
Holy fuck, he’s here.
So, remember that movie when the babysitter was being stalked and her phone rang and the call was coming from in the very house she was in? Yeah. That. But in a hot way.
