Book covers are awesome. It’s like the first impression of the dating world. Just one second for us to judge a person- or a book- and decide if they are for us. Let’s look at the clothing choices of the cover models and ask what the hell are they wearing and why?
Oh…he’s a stepbrother. And, he’s not wearing anything. Just tattoos. His nickname is Cannon because of the weapon between his legs. Totally not kidding, that’s the book’s description. Why bother with a shirt when you’ve got that happening down below? Although, his level of tattoos could be classified as what he’s wearing.
Why the suit? Because he’s a freakin’ BILLIONAIRE for goodness sake. He’s dominant, dark, damaged and used to getting what he wants. That’s just how they dress. Maybe in your mere middle class circles guys don’t wear Men in Black-ish suits, but he’s a damn BILLIONAIRE.
He looks like he rushed out of the house to beg his girlfriend to come back. They had a bad argument. And oops, he’s done it again…he’s forgotten his shirt. He just grabbed his sport coat and dashed out to apologize for not telling her that his ex-girlfriend was in town. He hates that she ran into the ex at the club last night and he’s hoping his magic abs are going to wear her down enough to accept his apology. It works.
I read this book and loved it. Excellent! I’m not sure what’s happening with the jeans here. Really, it’s almost like he’s got a chastity belt on….which we all know is impossible given it’s a new adult romance and those guys are not about to lay low and be sex free. It’s very complicated, there’s a belt and other stuff that looks time consuming to undo. I hope he’s never in a hurry to get into that area. #PatienceIsAVirtue
*He’s also wearing fingerless gloves. That way he can keep his hands warm while he sexts his girl.
Cat Crawfield looks like my doppelgänger here. I’m digging the cape and the sleek black outfit. She’s a Booknista favorite. So bad ass and awesome. I’m not sure if those are above the knee tight boots or they’re ankle boots with tight almost thigh highs. And, I don’t care. She can do no wrong. #GoGirl
This has really good reviews. I may try it. He’s got a bit of a hip retro look happening with the suspenders. I’m not sure what casino has guys with unbuttoned shirts flinging chips on the floor. I should investigate. Is that a Fit Bit on his arm, or maybe an Apple watch? How cool. He probably watches what he eats, and likes to go on active dates like hiking, climbing walls, early morning runs on the High Line and kick boxing. He’s got no limit to his physical activities.
I just finished this one. Definitely recommend! He’s wearing a long flowing leather coat. It’s a bit of an outlaw look. It could be hard to maneuver in when you’re the hero, how do you race with your inhuman speed through the snowy mountains in this thing? If it’s like other books, he’s most likely NOT wearing a shirt. The jackets and no shirts thing is big. He was in a hurry to go on his ski vacation, didn’t think to make a packing list and forgot his shirts.
I can’t figure this out. I think he’s wearing gauze. Is that possible? He has a bit of a sexy hospital patient look. I imagine he’s a soldier, he’s been gone a long time, wounded, his hair is grown out and he’s wearing this loose gauze shirt because of his injuries. He needs a good woman to help him get over all of the awful stuff he’s seen and done.
He’s wearing chains. Chains and jeans. No shirt. My bet is, the heroine’s car is stuck in mud and he’s going to her rescue. He was in the shower when she called in a panic, he jumped out, threw on jeans, grabbed those incredibly clean chains off of his nightstand and ran out the door.
First thing, what is that around his neck? This book has A LOT of great reviews. I admit to being intrigued. But, I can’t figure out that necklace. A few years back, I bought a necklace that had an old transit token from my hometown as the pendant. I got it on Etsy. It’s really cute. I get lots of compliments. It kind of looks like that, but smaller. #AndWhatsWithHisFace
