Welcome back guest blogger, @luxurious32 . Follow her on Twitter… as she is quite fabulous. This is the third book in the Blue Moon series, and can be read as a stand alone. I’ll start this by saying, I very much appreciate the cover of Call of the Alpha.
Now on to the review… Call of the Alpha. Here we go.
In this last book we come to know that the Beastmasters as a group have all been retired for the last two years. Call and Alpha are together and happily living off the grid, we learn that Shot and Fox are married, and of course that Hawk and Pierce are happy in love as well. Not long after the story starts, Omega shows up much to Call’s chagrin, however he comes with news of the order. It turns out that there is corruption from within. He’s been contacted by a never before seen member known as Lion, who has been chosen to find out the cause and members leading this rebellion. Alpha, of course quickly answers the call after agreeing to meet with Lion. Call, not letting his man go alone, calls up Hawk, who along with Omega and Lion, set off on another adventure for Justice.
I can’t tell you all how long I waited for this story! The love between Alpha and Call was incendiary.
The heat between them was quite palpable. I love how Alpha challenged him to always see himself as more than just the scars that littered his body. The chase thru the woods which takes place in the beginning to keep their skills sharp, was a very nice touch, it only makes sense between those two which made it even cuter. This book was just full of “awww” moments between the two.
We also get a glimpse of Omega who seems to have grown up, but still was being a bit bratty, it seemed he didn’t realize how much he still needed a more dominant driving force in his life until he met Lion. First of all… can I just say that every man she writes sounds just splendid?! The character of Lion was no exception. Now, Omega did take his sweet time before he finally gave into Lion but man once he did… It was so, so sweet. Lion showed an epic amount of patience once he realized that Omega was meant for him, but that he was just scared.
When those four guys, as well as Hawk and Pierce( glad they’re still going strong), get into the thick of things, that’s when things really started to rock. Of course Hawk’s character claims he knew they were on the way…lol.
Now I don’t want to spoil too much…BUT… the villain of the book is the reason this is getting four stars from me instead of the five I usually give all of her books. It just did not seem believable to me. I know circumstances can make people do crazy things, but it just came too much out of the blue ( no pun intended) for me, to really believe who it ended up being.
In all other aspects I loved, loved the book.. until maybe the very end. However this author is a must read for me and I will continue to support every single book she writes.
I will miss the boys in this series. If you have loved it as much as I have, go ahead and pick this one up. You won’t be disappointed.
